Building a Violin | Part Eight
I really enjoy woodworking, particularly with hand tools and so I’ve decided to take on the most difficult of woodworking projects…building a violin. I’m recording my progress on video so people have a chance to see me fumble around the workshop.
In part eight, I’m working on the arching of the plates. I start by using a Strad poster of a famous violin which was built on the same form. It’s a bit distorted so I can only use them as a guide. This is a challenge for me as I’m not entirely sure how the final shape should look, but I’m also excited as things are really taking shape.
