I am Michael A. Atkins. The subjects I consider in my writing reflect my personal journey to cultivate, in myself, the kind of integrity and character I believe can heal what I see as an increasingly divided culture. Though I don’t have credentials from a university or accreditations to boast of, I’ve taken it upon myself to learn about and delve into these sometimes difficult themes of politics, faith, and the essence of virtue in both of my books: “The Ten Commandments—A Layman’s Examination of the Decalogue” and my upcoming book “A Virtuous Republic”

These works are not just philosophical explorations; they are reflections of my personal quest to embody the principles I write about and am hoping we all would consider. I invite you, the reader, to join me on my journey. It’s my hope that together we can understand, discuss, learn, and grow as people; and ultimately exemplify it in our culture, to the betterment of all.
